Overview:
US Oncology has an opening for a self-motivated medical physicist to work at our Blairsville Georgia clinic. This is a solo position and we desire a candidate who feels comfortable working independently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. You will be part of a group of 8 other physicists and we often consult each other on problem solving and clinical advice. We also support each other during vacation coverage.

Responsibilities:
The radiation therapy department consists of one physician, one dosimetrist and three therapists. The department treats with an Elekta Versa and Elekta Infinity for EBRT (VMAT, SBRT, SRS). A Varian GammaMed is utilized for HDR. Eclipse (v16.1) is used for EBRT treatment planning and Brachyvision (v16.1) for HDR planning. MOSAIQ (v2.82) is used for RV. We have a full array of QA systems and tools including IBA Blue Phantoms, Mapcheck, Daily QA3, IC Profiler, Mobius 3D for second checks and Mobius FX for IMRT QA.
Qualifications:
We seek a candidate holding a Master's or PhD in medical physics with board certification in therapeutic radiological physics. We will also consider exceptional candidates, who are not board certified, but have completed ABR part 2. All candidates under consideration, will be expected to get on our RAM license as an authorized physicists for HDR.
